When it comes to hospitality lighting - the sky is the limit. Hotels, restaurants, pubs and resort - all vary a lot in concept, purpose, and design, thus lighting for hospitality is a case by case instance. The main focus should fall on the aesthetics of the place and the wellbeing of the guest, though.
For the hotelier, an added focus is the energy efficiency of the entire system - given that guest are not the most careful when it comes to shutting off lights. In addition, an intelligent lighting management system that enables you to adjust lighting according to presence is a huge benefit. Think of all the large areas that are infrequently visited such as long corridors, stairways, gyms or spas.

Projects
Kuzina
Kuzina is a Greek restaurant that was developed with the famed island of Mykonos in mind. The food is authentic Greek cuisine, the design is Greek and the atmosphere is Greek.
The predominant color palette is composed of the deep Mediterranean blue and the light sky blue, balanced with the grays and browns of stone and natural wood. The wood furniture is a mix of Jasper Morrison’s Trattoria and Lightwood chairs, as well as Corvin Cristian YO line.
Yet, when we talk about Greece, there is one single defining element – the sun. To bring the sun indoors was the key missing element of the whole concept. And this was our task: to design an unique lighting concept that gives the feeling of the sun shining, no matter the weather outside.
For this purpose, we used Chase – a track spotlight, with a very narrow beam angle of 15 degrees. Over 25 such luminaires were laid out on tracks all around the space, near the walls – all tilted at a precise angle in order to create the impression of parallel rays. The high color rendering index of 90, replicates the saturation and the hues of the décor under natural sunlight.
The effects are astounding: on the one hand, the placement of the track near the stone wall gives a wonderful grazing effect, bringing out each imperfection as if the wall was cut out by authentic masons. On the other hand, Chase luminaires were hidden inside a thick straw roof – such that narrow beams of light shine through each straw bundle and fall on the white table tops.
