Romania's Pavilion at The 2017 Venice Biennale

Established in 1895, when the first International Art Exhibition was organized, the Biennale is now one of the most prestigious cultural institutions in the world. Until today, more than 500,000 people have visited the Art Exhibition. Later than 1895, new festivals inside the Biennale were born: Music, Cinema and Theatre, followed by the Architecture Exhibition in 1930 and Dance performance in 1999.

On Venice Biennale 2017, Romania’s Pavilion has been considered one of the 5 most triumphant national pavilions, according to Artnet.

The 57th Venice Biennale hosted Geta Bratescu's exhibition "Apparitions", a participation that brings together several works from all the stages of her artistic trajectory. Many of the art pieces were shown for the first time, demonstrating a high capacity to employ a wide range of artistic mediums including drawing, photography, film, textile work, and sculpture.

Geta Bratescu, a central figure of local contemporary art since the 1960s, draws on a series of procedures from the visual and conceptual arsenal of modernism, advancing at the same time towards more contemporary ways of expression.

The exhibition "Apparitions" in the Romanian Pavilion is conceived around two major themes: the studio, which is central to Bratescu’s career as an artist, and reflection on female subjectivity through various modes of conceptualizing the feminine.

Our Tulip L track-mounted spotlights with 20-degree and 35-degree angle beams were equipped with ART special color to precisely highlight this wonderful and representative exhibition. ART special color enables the bright colors and the textures of the art works while staying true to their original shades, forms, and concepts, with an excellent color rendering (CRI 98). It simply offers the high-quality warm light for displaying very colorful exhibits.
